Organic Gardening 'Relaunch' Leveraging Heightened Demand

Rodale’s Organic Gardening has invested in a redesign, expanded edit content, upgraded paper stock and a larger trim size, starting with the February/March issue now on newsstands.

The revamped Organic Gardening features more food and cooking content and additional editorial contributors, in addition to the physical format enhancements.

The current issue’s ad pages are up 17% versus same-issue last year, reflecting readership and circulation trends, according to Rodale.

"Interest in both organics and gardening is growing at staggering rates, and consumers seek products and companies who help them on the path to live a more natural lifestyle," said SVP/publisher Mary Murcko.

That interest has also enabled the magazine to increase its rate base from 260,000 to 275,000, and adjust the timing of its six annual issues to a standard bimonthly schedule (instead of its traditional practice of publishing more issues during spring/summer growing season).  --K. Lukovitz
