Book Sales Up 6% Through February Net book sales rose by 4.8% in February and were up 6.2% for the first two months, according to the Association of American Publishers (AAP).
Adult paperback sales rose 30.8% in February, to $128.8 million; and were up 34.3% year to date. Adult mass market sales were flat for the month (up 0.4 percent%, to $59.5 million) but up 8.6% YTD. Children’s/young adult paperbacks rose 7.2% for the month (to $37.2 million) and 16.1% YTD.
Adult and children’s hardcover were down by 12.6% and and 8.2%, respectively, through February. |
